We survived !!
Here's my big, grown up girl on her way to school
They had a Boo - Woo breakfast for the Kindergarten parents after the drop off. I grabbed a doughnut, but only licked the chocolate off the top (no way I could eat it at 9:00AM). It's the small victories, here's to day 2....
PS- bought my first 12 jeans today (well first in like 15 years) - yea!

Sunday night stuff & New blog alert!!
My little muffin girl is getting very anxious about starting Kindergarten next week on the 30th. She's most upset about leaving her daycare friends - many of them have been together since they were babies. She cried when I put her to bed tonight and when I finally got her down I cried too because she just broke my heart. I'm not sure how much I'll be around this week since she's going to need some extra TLC.
In blogging news I discovered a new blogger, Amanda, when I was posting some info on the BOOBS site.
She's just starting the process and could use some followers so head over and say hi.
She's at : http://lifeofahopefulloser.blogspot.com
Have a great week!!!

Everything Counts
I have been quiet lately, at least on my own blog. I've been trying to comment on everyone else's and I'm probably driving the other BOOB planners nuts with emails, so I'm alive.
I've just been at that point where I'm feeling good and pretty content and it's at those moments a lose a little focus on the goal. I fully expected this to happen; I'm a pro at it. I loose weight, look pretty good and return to my old ways. This has been different though, I haven't gone crazy with food( I've had too much between meals though) and I didn't gain weight (which gives me hope for maintenance). I pulled myself back together and since I had been stuck at 188- 186 for weeks, was really happy to see 185 on the scale this morning. The heat was really made me retain a lot of water the last few weeks, so I'm attributing the 188 to that.
My goal is to be in the 170's by Chicago and I'm really excited about the exercise challenge, because so far it's been the one thing that I've been really inconsistent with. I'm always in awe of the super exercisers, but honestly I don't have to do C25K or have a personal trainer to be successful with exercise. I've always had an all or nothing view of exercise and it's always been nothing. So I'm trying to be more realistic about what I can do (Sherry had a good post about this the other day) and be aware that EVERYTHING COUNTS.
Did you know there's a thing on Wii Fit where you can use the step aerobics setting while you watch TV? Very cool – so what's stopping me from doing this while I watch Top Chef tonight? Only me. It's not running 5 miles, but IT COUNTS.
I'm not going to make any lofty exercise goals because they always come back and bite me in the ass and I feel like a failure. I'm just kind of happy that I've realized that my efforts count and I don't have to workout for 2 hours like Jillian Michaels is yelling at me to get some benefits.
Have a great Wednesday!!

Marry me lululemon girl!
Good Monday Everyone (I'm trying to be positive about Monday)!
I had a really nice weekend and I hope you all did too. The weather was nice both days (meaning not 100 degrees with 100% humidity) and I had some fun.
Yesterday Rick, Cate and I went out to Bonnie's house for a cookout and day of hanging by the pool. What a great day - the weather was perfect and they have this beautiful salt water pool (OMG), I think I may just live in their shed next summer. For those of you that don't know, Bonnie is my Chicago roommate (and friend) and we've met a couple times in person, but this the first time I met her family and they were so nice and welcoming. Her two daughters are so sweet and the husbands got along (you never know), so it was a winner in our book. Thanks Bonnie and family!!
Saturday, Cate and I had a Mommy/daughter day. We went and got her hair cut and spent a good part of the day in Annapolis. For those of you that don't know, Annapolis is a beautiful town in Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay – it's also very exclusive and has a lot of great shopping. We're lucky enough to live about 25 minutes away.
They have a fairly new outdoor shopping area there that I had never been too, so since it was such a nice day we decided to walk around and have lunch at Whole Foods. I really had no intention of shopping because with Cate starting Kindergarten in a few weeks we have a lot of other things to do with our money, but you know how that goes. I went into Anthropologie and J. Jill and a few other places and nothing really interested me. Then as we're getting ready to leave I decide to go into lululemon "just to look" because I really want a new shirt to wear for yoga and the gym.
So first things first – it's pretty expensive athletic wear (not if you are truly athletic – which I'm not) if you're used to Target's Champion brand. Secondly, it's a store that 6 months ago I would have never felt comfortable going into. Never mind the fact that the biggest size is a 12- all the salesgirls have perfect bodies and walk around in athletic wear (nightmare). So we go in and I start looking and I see the pants only go to 12 so I think "good, that means I won't buy anything". I started talking to one salesgirl, who was really sweet and actually believed that I did yoga and didn't just look at my body and laugh. We talked about tops that would work for me (and my ample chest) and she showed me a few (that I loved). Of course she asked me what size and I said honestly "I have no idea if a 12 will fit I'm kind of in between a 12 and 14 right now". Now get this - she said "well in this one a 12 may be too big looking at you". OMG – marry me yoga girl!!
I decided to try a few on and they were awesome, one of them is so supportive that I don't have to have a sports bra for yoga or spinning ( I would for running) and the one was pretty big in a 12. The thing is I looked good in them. So I was brave and I showed the salesgirl and she was agreed. Then I decided maybe I'd try on pants, but right now my top is smaller than my bottom so I didn't know if they would really work. So I tried on this cute capri style yoga pant and it fit. Now I've had a lot of shopping NSV's, but I have to say this was the most emotional for me. When I looked in the mirror I looked good, but most importantly I looked completely NORMAL. I looked like a million Moms I see in Target in their workout clothes running errands. My inner dialogue did not say "it fit's, but barely – you have not right to wear these clothes". I just stood and looked and looked and tried not to cry because I just felt normal and happy. So yes, I bought them. And yes, there are 999 more practical things I could have done with the money – but size 12 yoga pants that make my butt look cute don't happen everyday in my world, so I had to grab them.
I did not marry the lululemon girl because Maryland's liberal, but not there yet.
BTW Gilly – these have your name on them when they get too big for me.

BYOC
Tom Cruise or
Tom Brady? Neither really - Brady if pressed
Mr. Big (Sex and the City) or
Tony Little (excercise nut)? Mr. Big
Whoopi Goldberg or
Making whoopi? Making Whoopi (is anyone going to say Goldberg?)
2. I know some of us have discussed this before but I’ve been thinking and hearing it more in blog land as many of you are getting closer to goal. How do you feel about plastic surgery? What lengths would you go to in order to achieve it?
I have no issues with plastic surgery and if money were no issue I'd love to get my arms done (they are gross). I don't think I'd go into to debt for it (I have enough).
3. What’s your favorite website?
I love Go Fug Yourself - it is so funny and voyeuristic. I have it set up where it shows up in my Google Reader, so it shows up with everyone's blogs.
4. What’s your best tip for having a great vacation? (Yes, this is me being selfish….getting slightly nervous about my first vacay ever in 13 DAYS!)
Enjoy it and do what you need to do to have fun. Meaning if you are a super planner and won't be comfortable without a schedule then have one, but if you're the opposite don't make people feel like you have to have things planned.
5. Repeat question….which blog or comment stuck with you the most this week and why?
I loved Gilly's post about her childhood and Mother and fat prejudice.
